Bark Borer - Ernobuis Mollis

This beetle has a life cycle and biology very similar to the Common Furniture Beetle, but infests the bark of softwoods only. The flight holes may be slightly larger in comparison to the Common Furniture Beetle and are found frequently in roof spaces where bark has been left on the edges of roof timbers.

The borings are never of any structural significance, and no treatment is necessary as infestation quickly dies out following the tree being felled.
